At Harbour Centre, we are committed to protecting the very environment we are so fortunate to look out upon every day. As a BOMA BEST 3.0 building and member of the BC Hydro Power Smart initiative, we take sustainability seriously.

Harbour Centre – Environmentally Sustainable Management
Nestled beside Vancouver Harbour and overlooking the North Shore Mountains, we are continuously aware of the need to protect Vancouver’s pristine environment. We proactively pursue means of reducing our carbon footprint as part of our commitment to operating in a sustainable manner.

Top to bottom sustainable management of our complex not only benefits the earth but also lowers operating costs. We pass those savings along to our Tenants.

Bicycle Compound

We support sustainable transportation at Harbour Centre by providing a secure bike storage compound for those who cycle to work.


Harbour Centre maintains three plug-in electric vehicle parking spaces. While you pay for the parking, we take care of the electricity. Two of these spaces are available at our 450 Cordova Parkade and one space is available in our Harbour Centre Underground Parkade. We are proud to offer this initiative in partnership with the City of Vancouver.


Harbour Centre has been BOMA BEST certified since 2013. In 2018, Harbour Centre achieved the BOMA BEST Gold certificate.

BOMA BEST is a voluntary environmental recognition program run by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) for commercial buildings. Recognizing buildings that implement best practices into their operations, BOMA BEST standards are based on accurate and independently verified information.


Harbour Centre runs several types of recycling programs to meet the needs of our Tenants.

  • Construction Material Recycling – Our Construction Department recycles building materials that are used during all projects carried out at Harbour Centre.
  • Electronic Recycling – We collect Tenant electronics such as computers, monitors, circuit boards, keyboards, telephones, cell phones, modems, fax machines, copiers, printers and cables. If it needs to be recycled and has a cord attached, we accept it at the Electronic Recycling location on level P1.
  • General Recycling – We recycle paper, cardboard, plastics, aluminum cans, light bulbs and glass. Our recycling centre is located on level P1.
  • Organic Recycling – We collect organic food waste building-wide. In support of the City of Vancouver’s directive to reuse organic waste and reduce pressure on our landfills, we gather organics and employ local vendors who repurpose the material for composting.

Electronic Communication with Tenants

To reduce paper waste, Harbour Centre communicates electronically with all of our Tenants through the on-line Tenant Services request program Angus Anywhere.

Energy Conservation

At Harbour Centre, we constantly seek out methods of conserving energy, particularly in regards to the building’s electrical and mechanical systems. We install light sensors in Tenant and common areas, energy efficient lighting, electrical meters, low flow aerators on washroom faucets, water meters and much more. A proud partner of the BC Hydro Power Smart Program, we are always implementing new practices for reducing energy consumption.
