GET SNOW GLOBED AT HARBOUR CENTRE!

Posted by on 4 December 2015 -- No Comments

Vancouver, it’s time to shake up your holiday photos. Harbour Centre, The Vancouver Lookout, and the Kettle Society are offering Vancouverites an opportunity to “Get Snow Globed”. Please visit: http://www.vancitybuzz.com/2015/12/get-snow-globed/

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS GO UP ON HARBOUR CENTRE’S ANTENNA!

lights

Just in time for the start of December, Christmas lights are shining brightly at downtown Vancouver’s 100-foot-tall Harbour Centre antenna. The lights atop the 581-foot-tall building are in annual Vancouver tradition, having begun more than 30 years ago, and act as a seasonal beacon for the nighttime skyline.

HARBOUR CENTRE RECEIVES “GREEN ENERGY AWARD” !

info

Harbour Centre Complex Limited would like to thank the Tenants of 555 West Hastings for continuing to conserve energy.  In October, BC Hydro (Power Smart) presented 555 West Hastings with the Green Champion Energy Award.  Initiatives in 2015 included Stay Bright by Daylight, Space Heater Awareness and the Blinds Challenge.

We would also like to recognize Jennifer Davis of TurnLeaf Consulting Inc. and the Harbour Centre Team (Antonio Dal Sasso and Kit MacLeod) for their efforts.

MORGAN’S BATTERY!

Morgan’s Battery Charges up for the Holidays

We stopped by Morgan’s Battery in Harbour Centre upper mall to chat with owner, James Morgan. This Christmas, James has generously donated 50 LED Light Snow Globes to Harbour Centre’s Get Snow Globed campaign.

The Snow Globe event invites Vancouverites to shake up their holiday photos. Instead of the traditional photo with Santa, they are offering people an opportunity to take a picture inside a giant inflatable snow globe (for more information visit www.harbourcentre.com). James’ donation will be given away as prizes to people who partake in getting their picture taken. 100% of proceeds from the event will go to The Kettle Society, a local non-profit that assists people living with mental illness.

We decided to get to know James a bit better. The following is an interview with him to discover a little bit about him and his store.

Q. What is your favourite part of being an entrepreneur?

A. The ability to take your ideas from conception to completion. Working for yourself means a lot of freedom to try new things and be creative.

Q. How do you decide what to carry in your store?

We don’t want to carry items you can find just anywhere. Our gifts are all very unique. Although our main business is watch and cell phone batteries, we put a lot of effort into sourcing fun gifts and novelty items. After being in business for 20 years, you start to get a hunch for what people like.

Q. Why do you choose to operate in Harbour Centre?

A. Location location! Harbour Centre is located in a hub for transit, such as the Seabus and West Coast Express. It is a very busy area.

Q. Tell us about a Christmas tradition you have.

A. Our Christmas traditions have changed a lot over the years. The last few years we have put a lot of focus on giving to those less fortunate. We get involved with charities to fill Christmas stockings for families and also donate to the Children’s Hospital. With our family, it is all about creating memories. We always try to give unique gifts which they can hold onto for years to come.
